Studio Art (2021-22)
Practice Shapes
When we first started studio art, we started off by shading shapes in different ways. For example, one of the cubes uses pointillism to shade while the other uses cross-hatching. The sphere and cylinder are both using hatching. These were practice for our future projects.Tracing Project
These were one of the three tracing images we did. We layered tracing paper over a drawing but change the shading to another type. For this image, I changed the shading to cross-hatching.This is another one of the tracing images. I used the same image but used a different type of shading: hatching.
Sketch Book Project
For this project, we had to use one of the shading techniques we learned. We drew boxes and different lines within those boxes. We then had to shade in different directions using one technique. It gives a nice optical illusion!Skeleton Trace
This is technically part of our tracing project, but we only needed to do two images for the project. I decided to do a third and use pointillism. This took forever!! I spend weeks working on this in my free time, but it came out amazing!! This is one of my favorite pieces I made all year. All that hard work was worth it!
Calendar Project
This is another of my favorite projects of this year, although the photo doesn't show its true beauty. We had to make a theme and have each day be it's own object relating to that theme. Then, each day had to have it's own design. For mine, I had each day as mushrooms, labeled with a tiny mushroom next to it, or a rock under neither. I worked really hard on this project and it is one of my favorites that I have ever made! I wish the photo made it look as good as it really looks.Contrast Drawing
This contrast drawing was made by taking one picture and separating it however you wanted. For this picture, I split it down the middle. The right side has the flowers outlines and the white space is filled in with pencil. On the left side, the flowers are draw in great detail and the white space stays white. I loved this project and how amazing it looks. It is hung up on my wall, which is why it is framed and reflective. This is one of my best pieces from this year.Monochrome Paintings
These Monochrome paintings were a start to prepare us for the gouache paintings. First we only started with gray scale and if we wanted more practice, we could do a single color scale; I did blue.
Gouache Paintings
For our gouache paintings, we want outside to practice painting our surroundings. We were supposed to finish four but it rained a lot and we only did two.
